A free birthday breakfast. A smoothie. A little gift to take home. Canada has some lovely birthday perks, but most take a little preparation. This is the list, with the deadlines left in.
The 7-day rule.
Several programmes require you to join and add your birth date at least a week before your birthday. Starbucks and Booster Juice also have prior-purchase requirements. Joining on the day may be too late.

Check the official programme (opens in a new tab)A little planning. More celebrating.
- Join early. Set up the free memberships for the offers you actually want, at least a week before your birthday.
- Check eligibility. Read any prior-purchase condition before deciding whether a programme is worth joining. Spending just to unlock a freebie may not save you money.
- Add your birthday. Save it in each profile. Check that the date is correct.
- Set a reminder. Ten days before your birthday gives you time to check for new rules and missing coupons.
- Bring what you need. The app, emailed coupon or photo ID. Plan around the actual redemption window.
A couple of birthday questions.
Do I need to buy anything?
Some programmes need a previous qualifying purchase, even when the birthday redemption itself is free. We show that condition on the listing. Sephora’s in-store birthday gift is the option to check for no-purchase redemption; online terms can differ.
Can I claim everything on the same day?
Not necessarily. Some rewards are day-of only, while others use the birthday month or a coupon window. Check the reward in your account. Denny’s requires your actual birthday and photo ID.
Will GoodieGrab ask for my birth date?
The email signup only asks for your email and consent. The Birthday Club edition goes to the list on the first Tuesday of each month, replacing that week’s regular email.
